Marine Engine & Systems Diagnostics in Florida

Sea Ready Inc. diagnoses and resolves marine engine and systems faults across Central and South Florida, led by a captain who served as engineer on a 112ft Sunseeker. The focus is finding the root cause, in the engine room, behind the panel, or in the fluid sample, before it becomes a failure offshore.

Diagnose at the Source

Marine problems are usually symptoms of something upstream: an overheating alarm that is really a clogged strainer, a charging fault that is really a corroded ground, rough running that is really dirty fuel. Sea Ready’s approach is to trace each fault to its actual source rather than replace parts and hope. That comes from hands-on engineering time, not a code reader alone.

What does marine engine and systems diagnostics cover?

Sea Ready diagnostics cover main engine performance and repair, generator service and rebuilds, hydraulic steering and stabilization, fuel polishing and tank cleaning, AC and refrigeration systems, and watermaker maintenance, the full mechanical and systems stack that keeps a vessel running.

A modern yacht is a collection of interdependent systems, and a fault in one often hides in another. Sea Ready works across all of them: main engines and the diagnostics behind power loss, overheating, or rough running; generators, which carry the entire electrical load at anchor and fail at the worst possible time when neglected; hydraulic steering and stabilization; fuel systems, where polishing and tank cleaning solve problems that look like engine faults; and the comfort systems, AC, refrigeration, and watermakers, that define life aboard. Because Sea Ready is run by a captain with real engineering time, diagnostics start with how the systems interact, which is how intermittent and "no-fault-found" problems finally get pinned down.

What are the signs my marine engine needs diagnostics?

Common warning signs include hard starting, power loss or reduced top speed, overheating, unusual smoke or exhaust color, vibration, rising oil consumption, and charging faults. Catching these early, ideally through fluid analysis, is far cheaper than repairing the failure they lead to.

Why is fluid analysis better than waiting for an alarm?

An alarm tells you something has already failed. Oil and fluid analysis reveals abnormal wear metals, contamination, and coolant intrusion while the engine still runs normally, turning a future catastrophic repair into a small, scheduled fix.

Questions

Do you work on both engines and onboard systems?

Yes. Sea Ready diagnoses and services main engines, generators, hydraulics, fuel systems, AC and refrigeration, and watermakers. Because these systems interact, diagnosing them together is often how intermittent faults are finally resolved.

Can you catch problems before a delivery or sea trial?

Yes, and it is strongly recommended. A pre-departure systems check and fluid analysis before a delivery or sea trial catches developing faults while the boat is still at the dock, the cheapest and safest place to find them.
